Not withstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.

Apocalypse 2:20

No, this verse is not at all an exaggeration.

Jezebel, or to say it better, the spirit of Jezebel, exists today and is at work like it was in the olden days. As the apostle John had to say, Jezebel still today is infiltrated in the Church of God and induces the believers to fornicate and living in a lustful way.

During the time of the prophet Elijah, this spirit was real and was the hidden responsibility for the corruption of an entire Nation! think that it pushed something like 10 million Israelites to fornicate and to sin against God, to sin to the point to push them to kill the prophets and to prostrate in front of the Baal god with all the perversion that this involved. an entire population followed this spirit, a population from which only 7,000 men were preserved! The spirit of Jezebel is a professional of fornication and idolatry and is specialized in bringing the believers to fulfill these awful acts.

But who was Jezebel, in the Bible?

Was she really a wicked woman, a woman possessed from a foul spirit, the difference between this spirit and the woman, was that this spirit instead survived to her death. Jezebel was the wife of one of the wickedest king of the history of Israel, Ahab a king who was dragged into idolatry and sin by this woman. Ahab, pushed by the wife, in fact succeeded to exterminate the prophets of God and to support the false gods of Baal and Ashtaroth

Nevertheless, the spirit of Jezebel existed before, that the same Jezebel trod the scenes of history, but it was with this woman who it had taken shape and it has manifested itself totally.

This because the spirit of Jezebel identifies itself very well in the sphere and in the feminine psyche. To this spirit, just the same that Jezebel was doing with Ahab, likes to manipulate the people (and the men in particular) without having to resort to physical force.

The women influenced from this spirit are often arrogant, are independent from all and dislike to have to give account to someone of their own acts. The husband, if they have one, is for them someone to humiliate, or to deceive and to use for their own purposes.

Often, women of the sort, also do not hesitate to blackmail their own husband making leverage on their fear of becoming publicly disgraced by them.

The spirit of Jezebel has an awful ambition to the point to put itself in evidence for being able to have the primary control of the situations. her purpose is to be able to control the people and to maneuver them like she wants. This is in fact the motivation that pushes her to obtain its supremacy in the situations. Her real purpose is not the situations, but the people involved within her. wants to maneuver them like a puppet, to influence them until they cancel their own will, and to acting through them in order to bring to term their purpose.

Now, the way in which Jezebel controls the men is not a way that foresees physical strength. in fact she has it by means of fornication and immorality, naturally joined to falsehood and deceit.

Falsehood is part of her act.

At times, this spirit does not hesitate to sow false accusations towards the believers,

with the attempt to discredit men and women of God who have instead refused themselves to submit to her flatteries. They are not rare, in fact, the cases in which honest and blameless men of God have had to defend themselves from the falsehood sowed from this vindictive spirit. Therefore as Joseph had to defend himself from the accusations of Potiphar’s wife (false accusations because very well we know that Joseph never acted recklessly) there are some today forced to endure the accusations of this spirit that, not being able to successfully conquer them, tries to get revenged trying to discredit them.

Often, a woman influenced by this spirit, uses seduction in order to induce the men to sin. Seduction, in fact, another aspect of this spirit. Women who continuously seduce the believers its obvious and evident of people influenced from the spirit of Jezebel. Other times this spirit operates by means of pornography. This is another result of the acts of Jezebel. Pornography, in all its expressions, is a fruit of this spirit. A survey from the “Corriere della Sera”(evening newspaper) it was seen that more then 14 million Italians are subscribers to a pornographic channel or circuits, and this says it on how deep this plague is in our society.

Nevertheless, although in the world the influence of Jezebel is more obvious, Its in the Church that she loves to operate. The apostle John, in fact, unmasked this very spirit in the Church: “And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass; I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works; and the last to be more than the first. Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols. And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not. Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works. But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you none other burden. But that which ye have already hold fast till I come. And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father. And I will give him the morning star. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches" (Apocalypse2:18-29)

In the Church there are those who love God and they wish to walk with Him, but at the same time they are chained by Jezebel and, in some way, they follow her and they endure the consequences. In the secret of their heart they are prey of this woman, They are deeply embarrassed of being enslaved of immoral truths, but they do not succeed to remove themselves from her.

When they pray, their spirit comes invaded from sense of guilt that brings them not to ever be able to express the fullness of faith and the clear frankness with the things of God. The guilt and the shame are the price that Jezebel makes them pay, a price that most often increases until publicly disgraced and humiliated.

Jezebel wants to induce to sin and fornication mainly the ministers of God, in order to then disgrace them, and with this, to disgrace and waste the works that the Lord has entrusted them with. Once completed that is, it does not hesitate to pass to the next minister. ,

Yes, the battle of Jezebel against the Church is in action: “And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood. (Apocalypse 12:15).

In this passage it reveals to us the strategy that this spirit uses still today in order to seduce the believers. The water of the river, in this context, represents the words or rivers of words.

Never like today, in fact, Satan overflows the world (and at times the Church) with words and visual images that exit directly from her mouth! The woman instead represents the Church, the believers, the people being chased, tempted and at times seduced from these infernal rivers.

Nevertheless, although it uses every shape of sexual immorality in the comparisons of her victims, this spirit loosed directly from hell is not looking only for the immorality, no, Jezebel uses the immorality for then having the control of the person, and uses the power of passions in order to dominate the men. Many have been the cases in which some believers have publicly confessed to having been victims of this spirit and to have been lured for reason of this seduction. This is a spirit. That does not need to be a striking beauty in order to seduce the people, because her power is mainly spiritual and diabolic.

In fact, at times, this spirit operates also in the sphere of the homosexual.

Therefore, Jezebel, is at war against the Church and consequently the Church must warfare and remove this spirit. The apostle John was very strict towards this reality, and the same severity we must have also, every believer, must be strict above all in its own comparisons and not to give space to possible seduction or immorality that come proposed, because one small tolerance of this often brings Jezebel to operate in a more extensive way in the life of the people. In fact in the inner sanctuary of the soul that this spirit hides itself and comes tolerated, and is therefore always in the soul that must drastically terminate!

Praises are giving to God for His Word and for His Ministers which, thanks to the Holy Spirit, are in a position to helping the believers to winning these battles, because, however also in this case we must never forget that, in Christ Jesus, we have the Victory.
